For me, it was because of my trainees.
For many years of mentor in my personal knowing center, moms and dads would bring their kids to me that lagged in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were simply a little bit behind, sometimes they were way behind, and in some cases they were at grade level and just wanted to progress faster.
In some cases this was due to the fact that the students had finding out problems like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply due to the fact that the teachers did not teach all of the particular abilities needed to check out.

The program does take some involvement from a moms and dad for grades K-2, however for grades 3-8, many kids can do most activities in the program by themselves.
